The neck is very prone to give problems as it is the most mobile part of the spine and consequently there are many causes of neck pain. Stress, tension muscle spasm, inflamed joints (arthritis), trauma, simple wear and tear and specific disc lesions can all give rise to neck pain.
These conditions can also give symptoms away from the neck to give rise to referred arm and head pain or altered sensation.
